SHERO, a new conceptual art show by Rukh Art Hub, is opening its doors on February 15th.
Featuring artworks by 27 Ukrainian prominent contemporary artists, this exhibition is all about the power and beauty of women.

The show’s curators, Maria Manuylenko and Inna Pedan, selected 30 unique artworks in a variety of styles, genres, and techniques, masterfully fusing together modern global trends and Ukrainian ethnic traditions. The diversity of artworks featured in the SHERO exhibition showcases the distinctiveness and depth of female experience, depicting it through different, sometimes conflicting angles.

SHERO is about resilience in the face of personal and global tragedies, an ability to find joy in any circumstances, the strength to achieve what seemed to be impossible, and the power of bringing new life into the world. It is an art manifesto to the invincible power of women, proclaimed in multiple voices from artists with different backgrounds, views, and techniques.

Following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a number of artists featured in this exhibit, just like so many other Ukrainian creatives, were forced to abandon their homes and head into the unknown just to find safety. However, despite the horrors and hardships of war, they never gave up and have been creating new artworks with even more determination and passion. SHERO is a dramatic testament to the courage and resilience of Ukrainian artists.
